Vomit Comet was basically a one off band. I had booked a show for our friend Paul Jacobs at this Ain’t Hollywood and someone cancelled on me. I wrote a handful of originals and grabbed Rufus to song and write the lyrics and Derek from the NOBLE SAVAGES on drums (my favourite Hamilton trash punk band!) and my buddy Jamie on second guitar
from GET OFF THE COP, another killer Hamilton punk Outfit. We did like two rehearsals. Very messy, angry sloppy punk. And a ridiculous ten minute version of ‘TV EYE’ in our set. It’s one of my favourite Stooges cuts! We had two guitar players and no bass as we wanted it to sound shitty and sloppy.
At the time I was a big drinker and I had replaced my daily alcoholism with hilarious amounts of shitty weed. At this show I didn’t. Smoke any weed I was sober for the first time in a long time. I’d always had at least few drinks to “loosen up”.

I was actually really nervous, I remember I had a banana and a Red Bull before we played. Trying to be healthy I guess. It’s not recommended and it will not help your stomach!
I was really glad I played with these guys because we played great for a one off band and I learned I didn’t need drugs and alcohol to preform or have fun playing music. What a fucking load of my mind and wallet.

We decide to record the songs live off the floor at a rehearsal and they ended up turning out pretty good for what they are. I made 20 or 30 CDRS and gave them away to friends.

A week or two later our pal Lou tells me there has been another cancelation at Hollywood. We blast a quick rehearsal, and We add a cover version of ‘garage rock staple Gloria’ but changed it so Rufus sang ‘Vomit’ instead of Gloria. We repeat the show complete with ten minute TV EYE cover with sweaty Rufus rolling all over me on the ground grinding and kissing me while I played guitar. We had a good laugh after the show and I asked him “Rufus that was pretty intimate, I didn’t know you felt that way about me!” And he replied with “I though it would be weird if I didn’t do it.” Hahaha. Thats the ‘good doctor’ for you. This band has a soft spot in my heart even thou it was short and sweet
